Merrily Marching On!

It’s the merry month of March… Online! Spring is in the air and the light bright yellow colours are an inspiration for all our artists at Gig-Arts! Each week, scores of artists of all abilities join online to hone their creative talents stay motivated and share their happy artworks on our FaceBook and Instagram pages!

In collaboration with the ICE Centre, this busy month started with an exciting array of golden daffodil painting. This brought out the opportunity to practice delicate painting techniques which sharpened skills and concentration. We also enjoyed the Gig-Arts’ Mother’s Day celebration where artworks full of hearts and flowers were created for the special women in our lives.

Mid-way through March we decided to go green and celebrate St.Patrick’s Day with a grand show of lucky green shamrocks. The bold shapes looked brilliant in window displays and brought a smile to all!

Marching on, with Easter on the horizon, there was a flurry of excitement as sunny days, mass vaccinations and the slight easing of lockdown measures lifted everyone’s spirits. On an Easter countdown, we had a fun session painting fluffy Easter chicks. This rolled onto a second week with the theme of an Easter Extravaganza!

At the end of the month, our ‘Painting Online with Purpose’ took a twist as we trialled a ‘Theatre Online with Purpose’ “TOP”. Here everybody had the opportunity to develop their confidence through acting skills online! Puppets shaped like bunnies and chicks were carefully painted and accompanying clucking chick noises and bouncing bunny actions added to the fun-fuelled theatrical extravaganza!
