What's New in November?
Wow! What a month! We have held a whole host of online activities throughout November. It has been fantastic to see the smiling faces of aspiring artists from all across Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire. Over the month, we have rolled our Painting Online with Purpose (POP!) activities including poppy painting for Remembrance Day, woodland scenes to appreciate nature and a Pudsey Bear Party! The paintings were displayed in home windows and at the ICE Centre in Witney which has brightened the day for passers by, families and friends. Photos of the POP artworks created can also be seen on the Gig-Arts Facebook and Instagram pages. Our Pudsey Bear paintings on Facebook reached 576 people - Please kindly remember to like and share Gig-Arts online.
We would really like to publicly thank Gary Cooke for his tremendous fundraising effort for the Gig-Arts charity. Gary is kindly donating ongoing funds from the sale of his book 'Graphic Lockdown' which is available to buy on Amazon. Thank you Gary!
Within the Board of Trustees we've been going through a lengthy change management process. This is drawing a close and we are excited about building on our strengths and moving towards a broader exciting future online. These trustee changes will shortly be formalised within the charity's governing documents. Meanwhile, the executive team is planning an exciting agenda for the forthcoming festive season. CEO Abbie Cooke presented the Board with an alternative Christmas Gig-Arts Event plan - a first time, online interactive "Gig-Arts Puppet Panto"! Our aspiring artists will be invited to make a sock puppet at home and take part in the puppet panto live online! More info will follow very soon in our December News bulletin.
