POP-art: Launching into an optimistic October!

We are delighted to announce the launch of our new ‘Painting Online with Purpose’ or POP-art as we affectionately call it! This is a new online art class designed by Gig-Arts to promote the deep uplifting contribution that the Arts can make to society.

Each week our amazing artists of all abilities join us online to paint with passion and create purposeful paintings. Each week there is a different painting theme or purpose that promotes the charity’s values of equality, teamwork, love and simplicity. Purposeful examples include World Smile Day, World Mental Health Day, World Sight Day, BBC Children in Need, and much more.

What’s in it for everybody?

This exciting new initiative promotes online inclusion for disabled people. It has the benefit of fun-fuelled art therapy for relaxation and rejuvenation. It also promotes global happiness and kindness through sharing the hand-made positive colourful imagery online; and builds painting skills and techniques through expert tuition and motivation!

The launch!

We launched into an optimistic October with kick-start paintings for World Smile Day!  Our first POP-art session held on Zoom on the 6th October welcomed enthusiastic artists from across the Cotswolds. With upbeat pop music playing and small teams waving, everyone embraced the happy theme with cheers and laughter. Juggling pots of paint and brushes everyone made a splash! Grinning from ear to ear, we were also delighted to share the smile paintings on Facebook and Instagram!
