A Joyful Jump into January 2022!
Painting online with purpose!
As January dawned we decided to "Let it Go!" and have a joyful singalong 'Frozen' movie themed painting session to start the new year. National 'Winnie the Pooh Day' then captured the hearts and minds of the Gig-Arts Artists as they embraced painting the positive bright yellow coloured Pooh Bear. Finally, Burns Night was a cause for celebration with artworks of Scottish thistles surrounded by bold tartan stripes. It's been a bright January of Gig-Arts' painting online to cut through the grey days of Winter - Our online classes have been very well attended!
The beat goes on…outreach tour development from Witney to Carterton
We’re also excited to mention that the paintings created at our December Green Gig-Arts Event are on tour. They are currently at the Madley Park Care Home in Witney being seen by residents, families and carers. Next the artworks will tour onto Carterton and The Homestead residential and dementia care centre. As a showcase, there will be a display of the ‘Love the Tree’ sculpture by professional sculptor Christopher Townsend surrounded by paintings by Gig-Arts Artists.
Happy horizons…
Looking ahead, Gig-Arts is most honoured to welcome a new chair of the Trustees, Martin Dare who will be leading our Charity Board this year. Martin has a range of experience working at board level with both art and sport charities for young people. He is a long-term champion and corporate sponsor of Gig-Arts and his passion and focus means the charity is in safe hands for the foreseeable future!
